Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 1a	The management of the post and all thereunder is under the supervision of the Executive Committee. The Executive committee has power in management of the post to vote and determine the operating decisions without 2/3 majority membership vote.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 2	The Commander (President) is married to the 2nd Vice, both hold office and sit on the executive committee.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 6	Membership is voluntary and to be eligible for The American Legion, you must have served at least one day of active military duty since December 7, 1941, and have been honorably discharged or be currently serving honorably.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7a	Every member of the American Legion has the power to elect members of the governing body. Open nominations and elections are held for those verified as members and the officers are elected with a 2/3 majority vote of the general membership. Once elected the Commander (President) has a number of set positions that he fills by appointment as per the written bylaws.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7b	Executive Committee is elected by 2/3 majority vote of membership and have the power and authority to hire and dismiss all employees as necessary
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b	Once the outside accountant has prepared the draft of the 990 Return is was presented to the Executive Committee for review, questions and ultimately final approval. It is then e-filed with copies given to the Executive Committee.

Part III 4a	Provided Honor Guard detail which provides funeral honors for eligible veterans and service members, which include playing "Taps," flag folding, three-volley rifle salutes, and a uniformed detail. The service is provided free of charge for the families of eligible service members and veterans upon request. It is conducted only by volunteers who are not paid, although a mileage stipend is offered to those that due volunteer to assist in their travel to and from the services. The services of the honor guard can also be requested for ceremonial purposes as well and serve as the "guardians of the colors" by displaying and escorting the national flag on ceremonial occasions at official state functions.
Part III 4b	Other veteran services include social service support and assistance for any veteran or active service member that requests or shows a need. It also includes assistance, financial or otherwise, for active service members or their families for basic necessities including housing (usually helping a displaced person(s) find immediate shelter), electricity, and food. This assistance is provided regardless of membership to the above listed individuals and on an as needed basis. It is not only emergency assistance but help with long term solutions.
Part IX 24e	Certain overhead expenses were allocated between program services and management & general on this line using the 40%/60% allocation method. In the detail the line each group is identified and the split is adding 40% of the total cost per group to the program services while deducting the exact same amount out of the management & general where it was originally recorded.
Part VI Section B 12c	Upon election of officers at the first executive meeting any possible conflict of interest(s) are acknowledged, discussed and acted upon if needed. Periodically throughout the year it is discussed for new incidents.
