	THE CANTEEN IS RUN BY PAID EMPLOYEES, WITH OVERSIGHT FROM THE QUARTERMASTER AND THE COMMANDER. IT IS LOCATED AT THE POST AT 100 LEGION LANE, BATESVILLE, AR 72501. MEMBERS SPEND 20% OF THEIR TIME. THE CANTEEN IS SELF-FUNDING. THE CANTEEN IS A PLACE WHERE VETERANS COME FOR COMRADERY WITH OTHER VETERANS. THE PROCEEDS OF THE CANTEEN HELP SUPPORT THE UPKEEP AND OPERATION OF THE FACILITY AND THE VARIOUS VFW PROGRAMS.

THE RECOGNITION OF PATRIOTIC DAYS IS A REQUIREMENT OF THE VFW. WHEN FUNDING IS NECESSARY DONATIONS AND THE CANTEEN FUND THESE EVENTS. THE VFW ALSO PURCHASES AND DISTRIBUTES FLAGS TO OTHER ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS LOCAL CHURCHES TO PLACE ON THE GRAVES OF SERVICE MEMBERS AND VETERANS. THIS IS CARRIED OUT BY VARIOUS MEMBERS.
