I attribute this to our long-term accountant's office endeavoring to complete work in progress during our accountants extreme illness and death in Nov of 2023 and making a reporting error. This is a pure reporting error, there is no question about the asset value or the operating expenses reported. We have recreated all prior years, documented the process, and employed a management company (with a bookkeeper) to oversee our books on a go-forward basis. Our 2023 filing conforms with 2011 through 2021 amounts filed so we are confident this was a one-time, regrettable occurrence.

The Accountant who has done our financial statements and 990 filing for the last 10 years died in late 2022/ We were not aware of his passing until we reached out to his office in the spring and received an email that he had passed. We thought someone in his office would pick up the work but found out in July that the office was closing. We have spent the last several months gathering information and reverse engineering the 5 prior years financial statements in order to create the 2023 statements in using the exact process. We thought the filing deadline was in October but upon receiving the a notice from the IRS realized the deadline had passed. The process of recreating and reconciling these financial statements took much more time than we had anticipated.
