If there is damage to the housing unit, the program participant aka tenant receives a written explanation of what funds were expended from their security deposit and receives a refund of any remaining balance.

Wellington Park Apartments received notification of its reinstated nonprofit status at the board meeting on October 22, 2024. The board approved Shelly Smith to prepare and file Form 990 using an IRS-approved e-file provider. It took several weeks to identify the most affordable and reliable provider. Additionally, the e-file providers' shutdown in December for IRS rollover preparations further delayed the filing of Wellington's Form 990. The 990 was filed and rejected by the IRS - F990-902-01: 'EIN' of the Filer in the Return Header must be established as an exempt organization filer in the e-File database. On January 28th the nonprofit status was "manually updated by IRS agent Molina and Agent XXX-XX-XXXX stated to wait 4 weeks to file 990.
