| FORM 990 - ORGANIZATION'S MISSION | LBFS IS A NONPROFIT VEGAN SANCTUARY IN VIRGINIA. GIVING ANIMALS A SAFE AND LOVING HOME THEY ALL SO DESERVE. MANY ANIMALS ARE HURT, DISCARDED, TOO YOUNG TO SURVIVE ON THEIR OWN, HAVE SPECIAL NEEDS, OR ARE LOOKED OVER FOR NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN. AT LITTLE BUCKETS FARM SANCTUARY THOSE ANIMALS WILL BE GIVEN A CHANCE AT A NEW LIFE. THEY WILL BE REHABILITATED IF NEEDED, GIVEN PLENTY OF FOOD, SHELTER, LOVE, AND THE NECESSARY CARE ALL WHILE MAKING OUR FARM THEIR NEW HOME. THEY WILL NEVER AGAIN BE SCARED OR HUNGRY. THEY WILL ONLY KNOW LOVE, HAVING A FULL TUMMY AND A PLACE TO CALL HOME WHILE ALLOWING THEM A CHANCE TO SHOW OFF THEIR PERSONALITY, PLAY WITH FRIENDS, AND SHARE THEIR LOVE WITH FARM FRIENDS AND BECOME A PART OF THE LITTLE BUCKETS FAMILY. THROUGH OUR SOCIAL CHANNELS AND IN-PERSON SANCTUARY TOURS, WE SHOW PEOPLE THAT FARM ANIMALS HAVE FUN, LOVING, AND SWEET PERSONALITIES JUST LIKE OUR DOMESTICATED PETS. FARM ANIMALS HAVE STRONG FAMILY BONDS AND FRIENDSHIPS WITH EACH OTHER AS WELL AS THE HUMANS IN THEIR LIVES. THE ANIMALS AT LITTLE BUCKETS SHOW THOSE THAT HAVE THE PLEASURE OF MEETING THEM VIRTUALLY AND IN PERSON THAT THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DOMESTIC AND FARM ANIMALS. WE STRIVE EVERY DAY TO INSPIRE PEOPLE TO LOVE ALL ANIMALS AND LIVE MORE COMPASSIONATELY. AT LBFS, WE GIVE ANIMALS A SAFE & LOVING FOREVER HOME. WE RESCUE PRIMARILY FARM ANIMALS FROM HORSES TO GOATS TO DONKEYS TO COWS. WE ALSO RESCUE MANY ANIMALS WHO HAVE SPECIAL NEEDS FROM NEUROLOGICAL ISSUES TO LIMB ISSUES. WE CREATE SPACES THEY CAN THRIVE IN & PROVIDE THE TOOLS SUCH AS CARTS FOR THESE ANIMALS SO THEY CAN LEAD THEIR BEST LIVES. ALL THE ANIMALS ARE PROVIDED SPACES TO BE SAFE IN, AT THE SAME TIME LIVE THEIR LIFE HAPPILY WITH FRIENDS, LOTS OF LOVE, AND ALL THE CARE THEY WILL EVER NEED. WE CURRENTLY ARE THE HOME TO 47 RESCUE ANIMALS(5 WITH SPECIAL NEEDS) AND WITH A SMALL TEAM OF EMPLOYEES AND VOLUNTEERS WE GIVE THESE ANIMALS THE LIFE WE WISH ALL ANIMALS COULD HAVE. THEY GET ALL THE FOOD, MEDICINE, AND SUPPLEMENTS THEY NEED. THEY HAVE BIG FIELDS TO GRAZE IN AND BE WITH THEIR FRIENDS FILLED WITH ENRICHMENT AND SHELTER. THE MAJORITY OF THE ANIMALS EXCEPT OUR LARGE ANIMALS COME IN EVERY NIGHT TO OUR BARNS THAT GIVES THEM THE PROPER PROTECTION FROM WEATHER AND PREDATORS. OUR LARGE ANIMALS HAVE PROPER SHELTERS WITHIN THEIR FIELDS. WHILE OUR TEAM TAKES CARE OF THE ANIMALS ON A DAILY BASIS, WE CAPTURE SO MANY MOMENTS OF THE ANIMALS LIVES TO SHARE WITH EVERYONE ON OUR SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS AND WITH THE FAMILIES THAT SPONSOR ANIMALS. SHARING THE LIVES OF OUR RESCUE ANIMALS ENGAGES PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD AND THEY ARE INSPIRED BY AND MAKE A TRUE CONNECTION WITH THE ANIMALS AND IN TURN WE HOPE DECIDING TO MAKE MORE COMPASSIONATE CHOICES IN THEIR LIFESTYLE. WE ALSO ARE OPEN FOR THE PUBLIC DURING SCHEDULED TOURS OF THE SANCTUARY. THE ANIMALS DO WHAT THEY DO EVERY DAY AND ARE NEVER FORCED TO INTERACT OR BE SOCIAL HOWEVER THE ANIMALS LOVE TO BE PET ON AND GIVEN TREATS SO MOST OF THE ANIMALS COME RUNNING TO THE FENCE TO MEET VISITORS. VISITORS LOVE THIS AND CAN EXPERIENCE THE UNIQUE, FUN, AND LOVING PERSONALITIES OF ALL THE ANIMALS. THEY HEAR THEIR STORIES AND ARE SO AMAZED AND MAKE THAT CONNECTION WITH FARM ANIMALS, AGAIN WE HOPE EVERYONE MAKES THE CONNECTION TO WANT TO CHANGE THEIR LIFESTYLE BY INCORPORATING MORE OR ALL VEGAN OPTIONS INTO THEIR DIET, GIVING UP WOOL AND LEATHER, AND BEING AWARE OF THE IMPACT TO THE PLANET AND ALL THE ANIMALS. SINCE WE ARE A SANCTUARY NOT ADOPTING OUT THE FARM ANIMALS, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO SAVE SEVERAL ANIMALS A YEAR BECAUSE WE ARE PROVIDING THEM A LIFETIME OF CARE, LOVE, AND A SAFE HOME. SO HAVING THE ANIMALS DO THE TALKING BY JUST BY BEING THEIR AMAZING SELVES, WE HOPE THEY ARE SAVING MANY, MANY MORE LIVES WHEN PEOPLE MAKE THESE LIFESTYLE CHANGES. |
| FORM 990, PAGE 2, PART III, LINE 4A | OUR FIRST ACHIEVEMENT AND OUR 1 PRIORITY IS CARING FOR ALL RESCUE ANIMALS THAT STARTED 2024 CALLING LITTLE BUCKETS HOME. BEING A SANCTUARY, WE ARE PROVIDING A FOREVER HOME TO OUR RESCUE FARM ANIMALS, HORSES, GUINEA HENS, CATS AND DOGS EXCEPT FOR A DOG OR CAT WHO WE MIGHT RESCUE WHO WE PLAN TO ADOPT OUT. CARING FOR OVER 20 GOATS, 4 STEERS, 3 DONKEYS, 5 HORSES, GUINEA HENS, A PIG, DOGS AND CATS IS A HUGE RESPONSIBILITY. WE STRIVE EVERY DAY TO GIVE THEM ALL EVERYTHING THEY NEED TO BE HAPPY AND HEALTHY NO MATTER IF THEY ARE 1 YEAR OLD OR A SENIOR OR 5 LBS OR 2500 LBS. THEY ARE PROVIDED THE OUTSIDE SPACE THEY NEED, SHELTER AND SAFETY, FOOD, FRESH WATER, SUPPLEMENTS, ENRICHMENT, TREATS, OF COURSE LOTS OF LOVE, AND A FAMILY TO CALL THEIR OWN FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES. THEY HAVE DAILY ROUTINES, HAVE REGULAR VET VISITS & CHECKUPS, FARRIER CARE IF APPLICABLE, AND PROVIDED ANY EXTRA SPECIAL CARE THEY REQUIRE TO LIVE THEIR BEST LIFE. AND GIVING OUR RESCUE ANIMALS LOVE AND THE LIFE THEY SO DESERVE IS WHAT WE GIVE EACH AND EVERYONE THEM. THEY ARE FAMILY. |
| FORM 990, PAGE 2, PART III, LINE 4D | WE HOSTED MULTIPLE TOURS OF THE SANCTUARY IN 2024 AND WE GET TO MEET LOCAL PEOPLE AS WELL AS MANY WHO TRAVEL FAR DISTANCES TO MEET THE ANIMALS AT LITTLE BUCKETS. THE ANIMALS LOVE TO WALK OVER AND GREET EVERYONE, BE PETTED, AND SHOW HOW AMAZING FARM ANIMALS ARE. THE ANIMALS LOVE AND PERSONALITIES MAKE A HUGE CONNECTION WITH VISITORS AND WE HOPE EVERYONE LEAVES THE FARM WITH A MORE COMPASSIONATE MINDSET. IN 2023, WE HAD SAVED A DOG FROM OUR LOCAL SHELTER WHO WAS THEIR LONGEST RESIDENT AND WHOSE LIFE WAS IN JEOPARDY. WE WERE FOSTERING HIM AND GIVING HIM THE BEST LIFE WHILE LOOKING FOR HIS NEW FAMILY. ALMOST A YEAR TO THE DATE OF BEING SAVED, HE GOT ADOPTED BY THE MOST AMAZING FAMILY. HE NOW LIVES AN INCREDIBLE LIFE WITH A HUGE FENCED IN YARD, 2 DOG SIBLINGS AND A CAT SIBLING AND TRULY COULD NOT BE HAPPIER. HE TOOK A HOME THAT WAS THE PERFECT FIT AND WE WERE WILLING TO WAIT TIL THE PERFECT FAMILY CAME ALONG AND SURE ENOUGH THEY DID. |
