What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? To promote orderly and efficient harvest of groundfish, minimization of non-target species bycatch, and responsible management of certain fisheries off Alaska through member agreement and research.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 To promote, through the mutual cooperation of its members, the intelligent and orderly harvest of groundfish species in the Bering Sea, Aleutian Island, and gulf of Alaska trawl fisheries off Alaska;reduce waste and improve resource utilization in these fisheries;reduce the incidental catch of non-target species in the fisheries;to promote the adoption and continued support of resource utilization and conservation agreements and management policies consistent with these objectives;to attend north pacific fishery management council meetings from time to time and to summarize and disseminate information regarding the same; and to facilitate scientific research and publication concerning North Pacific fishing issues, particularly those related to the commercial fisheries of the Bering Sea, Aleutian Island and gulf of Alaska areas.
