Statement:
Lamberton Area Friends of the Library a private foundation organized under IRC 501(c)(3) and treated as a private foundation under IRC 509(a), has ceased operations and is filing this final Form 990-PF. Upon review of the organizations structure, it was determined that the original setup as a private foundation was in error. The organization was never intended to function as a private foundation and did not have significant assets or activity that warranted such a classification. The organization held a small balance of $2,590.82 in its bank account, which represented the entirety of its assets. Upon dissolution, the full balance was transferred to a newly established public charityLamberton Area Friends of the Library, a properly formed 501(c)(3) public charity organized to support the same mission in a more suitable structure. This final return reflects the full disposition of assets, and the foundation has no remaining assets or liabilities. No further activities will be conducted.
