	In 2024 AAIHR led national advocacy efforts to promote ethical and legal international recruitment of healthcare professionals. This included supporting the reintroduction of the bipartisan Healthcare Workforce Resilience Act HWRA engaging with policymakers and issuing public statements in response to visa policy changes affecting international nurses. These efforts aimed to alleviate the U.S. nursing shortage while protecting the rights of foreign-educated healthcare workers.
