What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? Establishing markets in public spaces to enhance community engagement and provide access to fresh produce; supporting local agriculture and small businesses. Educating the public about food systems and food preparation through our programming. Partnering with various government agencies to facilitate food access programs.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 Our organization's mission is to build Community by providing a place to engage with local farmers, producers, and artisans. As a member of the Washington State Farmers Market Association, we do this while maintaining a minimum number of farmers, and keeping a balanced slate of vendors who all grow or make their products here in Washington. For the 2024 season we held 22 Saturday Markets and 1 Holiday Market in Woodinville, WA, supporting a roster of 120 vendors where each week we had an average of 37 featured. Our event was attended by almost 23,000 customers, who spent a total of over $490,000 with our small, local businesses. We facilitated federal and state food access spending of $2,575, and offered an additional $830 from our own accounting. We provided community connection by hosting a nonprofit booth each week for local and mission-aligned organizations, and programming such as live music, a kids activity, and chef demos.
