Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 6	All VFW members in good standing have a right to vote on all money spent and all actions approved at a regular or special meeting. At the end of fiscal year 2024, VFW Post 1309 had 47 members.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7a	Every March, officers of the Post are elected at a regular meeting.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b	The completed 990 is reviewed by the Quartermaster and three Post Trustees for accuracy. The completed 990 is presented to the membership at a regular meeting.
Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19	All documents related to operations at Post 1309 are held at the Post Hall, located in Smithville, Texas, and are available for review upon request.
Form 990, Part VIII, Line 1f	Part VIII Line 1f - VFW Post 1309, in normal years, is under the $50,000 threshold and is able to utilize the 990 Postcard. In August 2024, the Post received a donation from the estate of a deceased member in the amount of $208,587.18. The money is primarily utilized to upgrade the facilities at the Post and invested to provide income for future operational costs.
