What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The objectives of the Benton - West City Area Chamber of Commerce, Inc, are to: advance the agricultural, industrial, commercial, and civic well being of the Benton and West City, Illinois, area; to aid in the conservation and advancement of the business and professional interests of said area; to foster and encourage the development of said area; and to exercise all powers granted by the statutes of the State of Illinois in the furtherance of said purpose
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 Service accomplishments this year include increased advertising and tourism in the Benton-West City area due to the outstanding events we host. We have performed more quarterly mailings, more live/on-location videos and feeds, and had an increase in the memberships due to the increased business our services have generated. We have provided speakers who educate our membership in tax, accounting, advertising, radio and TV media, and even what to expect from problem customers (especially those on drugs). We have provided local scholarships to the area's outstanding high school students.

Treasurer in charge of making the monthly and annual reports has had medical issues resulting from COVID. Treasurer is no longer gainfully employed, but desires to continue volunteering by maintaining the Chamber records. She is capable of doing an excellent job, but due to the effects of the illness, she is often unable to do so -- hence the reason she has given up her original occupation. Thank you.
