What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? WEDA is a non-profit technical professional organization devoted to the exchange of knowledge in fields related to dredging, navigation, marine engineering and construction. The Eastern Chapter of WEDA represents Bermuda, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida (East Coast) Georgia (Eastern), Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, DC, West Virginia, Virgin Islands and Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Part I, Line 16 Eastern Chapter of Western Dredging Association receives income from hosting an Annual Meeting and Conference annually. It does not charge or collect dues directly from members; members are assigned to the Eastern Chapter by the parent national organization. The Chapter's books are kept by an elected Treasurer. 990 filing is provided by the natonal organzation for each chapter. For consistency of communication across chapters, and due to annual chapter leadership changes, WEDA is the point of contact for the Eastern Chapter via mail and by phone for any questions related to the chapter filing.
