| FORM 990, PART III | OUTREACH, EDUCATION, AND PROFESSIONAL TRAINING THROUGHOUT 2023, SRDVC ENGAGED IN EXTENSIVE OUTREACH, DELIVERING 12 PRESENTATIONS ON CRITICAL TOPICS SUCH AS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, YOUTH VIOLENCE PREVENTION, FIREARM VIOLENCE, AND LGBTQIA+ ISSUES. THESE PRESENTATIONS REACHED APPROXIMATELY 200 INDIVIDUALS, INCLUDING COMMUNITY MEMBERS, BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS, DIRECT CARE AGENCIES, AND STUDENTS. SRDVC COLLABORATED WITH PARTNER ENTITIES TO CONDUCT EIGHT TRAINING SESSIONS, WHICH BENEFITED OVER 150 PARTICIPANTS. THESE SESSIONS COVERED VARIOUS TOPICS, FROM DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS TO YOUTH DATING VIOLENCE PREVENTION, PROVIDING PARTICIPANTS WITH ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND PRACTICAL SKILLS. A KEY ACHIEVEMENT OF THE YEAR WAS THE 'END THE VIOLENCE CONFERENCE,' A THREE-DAY TRAINING EVENT ORGANIZED BY SRDVC FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PROFESSIONALS. THIS CONFERENCE ATTRACTED 175 PARTICIPANTS AND WAS A MAJOR PLATFORM FOR TRAINING AND EQUIPPING PROFESSIONALS WITH THE NECESSARY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE TO IMPACT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN THEIR COMMUNITIES. EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY IN ADDITION TO ITS OUTREACH AND EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVES, SRDVC PLAYED AN ACTIVE ROLE IN LEGISLATIVE EDUCATION, PROVIDING CRUCIAL INFORMATION ON FOUR OCCASIONS FOR BILLS RELATED TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND STALKING. THESE EFFORTS WERE BOLSTERED BY TEN MEETINGS INVOLVING GOVERNMENTAL ENTITIES AND COMMUNITY ADVOCATES TO RAISE AWARENESS AND ADVOCATE FOR POLICY CHANGES TO FOSTER SAFER COMMUNITIES. SECURING FUNDING AND COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH SRDVC ACHIEVED SIGNIFICANT SUCCESS IN SECURING FUNDING FOR ITS PROGRAMS, OBTAINING THREE GRANTS THAT HAVE BEEN INSTRUMENTAL IN ADVANCING THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION TO ADDRESS DOMESTIC AND YOUTH VIOLENCE, SUPPORT SURVIVORS, AND ENHANCE COMMUNITY SAFETY. FURTHERMORE, SRDVC ESTABLISHED MEANINGFUL COLLABORATIONS WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES, PROSECUTORS, AND ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS TO PROPEL RESEARCH PROJECTS ON RISK REDUCTION AND FIREARM SAFETY. THESE COLLABORATIVE EFFORTS UNDERSCORE THE ORGANIZATION'S UNWAVERING DEDICATION TO ADDRESSING CRITICAL ISSUES AND IMPLEMENTING EVIDENCE-BASED INITIATIVES THAT CONTRIBUTE TO A SAFER AND MORE SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY. OVERALL IMPACT THESE EFFORTS REFLECT SRDVC'S COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO ADDRESSING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, SUPPORTING SURVIVORS, AND PROMOTING COMMUNITY SAFETY. THROUGH OUTREACH, EDUCATION, PROFESSIONAL TRAINING, LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY, AND COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH, SRDVC HAS MADE SUBSTANTIAL STRIDES IN FOSTERING SAFER, MORE INFORMED COMMUNITIES. |
