Form 990, Part III, Line 3	The Trust was established to provide health insurance to employees. The insurance vendor chosen at the time the trust was created required Salem Township Hospital to establish a trust in order to agree to provider the insurance. Salem Township Hospital has moved toward a self-insured model for health insurance for the employees and no longer utilizes the previous insurance vendor. A Trust in no longer needed as Salem Township Hospital pays all insurance claims for employees. At the end of fiscal year 2023, all remaining funds are being utilized to pay outstanding claims of employees, and the Trust is being closed.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 2	The officers and trustees have a working relationship under the related entity and there are no other known relationships.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7b	All decisions by the Trust governance are subject to review and or approval by the related party.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b	The Trust does not have policies independent of the related entity. All Trust activities are subject to the policies and procedures of the related entity, Salem Township Hospital. Salem Township Hospital complies with all applicable regulations, has policies and procedures for conflict of interest, whistleblowers, document retention and destruction, compensation, corporate compliance and oversight. The governing body of Salem Township Hospital has had the opportunity to review the form 990.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15	Salem Township Hospital Employee Benefit Trust does not employ staff including executive officers. All compensation matters are determined by the related entity, Salem Township Hospital. The Board of Directors determines the Salem Township Hospital's CEO salary upon hire based on the market data for the position. The CEO determines the other hospital executive officers' salaries when hired, based on the market data. During the annual budget review for the upcoming year by the Salem Township Hospital Board, the Board of Directors reviews and approves the CEO and all other key employees' salary and compensation. Market adjustments are given when appropriate after the review by Human Resources and merit raises are given annually. Both are approved by the Board of Directors prior to the implementation.
