Summary of Direct Charitable Activities
List the foundation’s four largest direct charitable activities during the tax year. Include relevant statistical information such as the number of organizations and other beneficiaries served, conferences convened, research papers produced, etc. Expenses
1 Medical treatment testing and special diets supplements to maintain the health and well-being of rescued animals tops the list of the sanctuarys mission expenses. Some animals arrive compromised and others develop conditions as they age. This years efforts included extra visits from the farrier for horses with ongoing hoof issues and vet visits for cats with cancer and thyroid issues. 13,452
2 The Sanctuary lived felt and dealt with the inflationary impact of purchasing horse dog and cat food in addition to bedding and cleaning supplies. 9,682
3 With many Sanctuary residents fragile due to age or medical conditions heating and cooling proves to be a large expense. Maintenance and upkeep of structures that house rescued animals likewise takes time vigilance and money. This year brought a partial patching and replacement of the horse barn floor. 7,026
4 Transportation costs in support of animal care includes hauling hay and other supplies and driving to medical appointments. Because one horse has a metabolic condition he requires timothy hay. Timothy hay happens to be more expensive and farther away than "regular hay." 4,510
