  Form 990-PF, Part XVI, Line 2a The Timken Company Charitable and Educational Fund, Inc. (The Timken Fund) has two primary purposes: to provide charitable support, and to reward children of Timken associates with scholarships ranging from $10,000 to $100,000. Charitable Support This includes financial contributions through the Timken Matching Gift Program. The Timken Fund matches associate donations to approved 501(c)(3) organizations in the amount of up to $2,000 per year, per associate. The Timken Fund also awards grants to 501(c)(3) non-profit charities serving communities in the areas of basic needs, education and community/economic development. In addition, The Timken Fund recognizes associates who volunteer their time to serving on the boards of an eligible 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organizations with financial contributions to those organizations. Scholarships The Timken Fund rewards exceptional children of Timken associates with more than $500,000 in scholarships annually. Applications are accepted in October - December and winners are announced in February. The availability of scholarships is promoted each year through a communications campaign and via local Human Resource managers.
