Serve our veterans, the military, and our communities. Advocate on behalf of all veterans. Our vision is to ensure that veterans are respected for their service, receive their earned entitlements, and are recognized for the sacrifices they and their loved ones have made on behalf of this great country. The VFW is an organization of war veterans committed to ensuring rights, remembering sacrifices, promoting patriotism, performing community services and advocating for a strong national defense. Our post is named for John Boyd, the first resident of Moore County to be lost during WWII. Throughout our over 70 year history here in the Sandhills of North Carolina, Post 7318 works to support all service members, in their lives after serving our nation. Renovating our current Post home in 2015, we have become a premier location for veterans visiting the area. We have robust Veteran's Relief Support System.

Our post is named for John Boyd, the first resident of Moore County to be lost during WWII. Allocation of funds to Veterans Relief programs, to include but not limited to individual Veterans in distress, VA hospitals and clinics in the area, local health research facilities and programs, TBI and PTSD program support, hospice care, VFW National Home for Children. Veterans Military Support program, Camp Lejeune Fisher House, and Fort Bragg Fisher House. We donate, rent free, a large office space within the Post for County VA Veterans Service Office, which is a program separate to those of the VFW. Provide monetary and labor support to the other VFW Posts programs and fundraisers. Assist in modifying disabled Veterans homes with funding and labor support. Allocation of funds to the Posts support elements - Military Order of the Cooties and the Auxiliary.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 6 The organization is made up entirely of members as stipulated in the Congressional Charter Title 36 USC Chapter 2301, for the Veterans of Foreign Wars. To be a member you must have served in a declared combat campaign or received hostile fire or immanent danger pay while in the miliary. Additionally, must have an honorable discharge and not convicted of a felony.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7a Officers are elected yearly by the membership to serve 1 year terms.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7b The members vote monthly at the meeting on donating money, scholarships, expenditures that are not considered normal operations, and on any other business that may arise.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b The Form 990 is reviewed by the Post Officers and Trustees. The current Quartermaster signs the 990. The members are given 30 days to review the 990 before it is electronically submitted.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15 The Officers, Trustees, and Quartermaster are elected volunteer positions. While funds are allocated for them to attend state and national events, there is no personal compensation allocated for their position. Further, the volunteers who assist in the daily functions and maintenance of the post do not receive compensation either.
Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 The National, State, and Post Bylaws and Governing Documents are posted in the meeting hall. Each Post Officer also maintains a copy. The National and State Bylaws are also posted on VFW.ORG and VFWNC.ORG. The Post Financial Report is given monthly at each meeting. The report is voted on to accept or audit from the Trustees. Quarterly Financial Reports are submitted the State Quartermaster and posted in the meeting hall for membership to access.
