1 Rocinha Community School - providing free education currently of English and Spanish language to adults adolescents and children living in the favela shanty-town named Rocinha in Rio de Janeiro which is one of the 5 largest shanty-towns in all of Latin America. The education provided helps residents to gain perspective and opportunity of personal and professional development. 38,293
2 Support of an informal orphanage and daycare house in Santa Cruz in the far west of the city of Rio de Janeiro. Santa Cruz along with most of the far western periphery of Rio de Janeiro is a poor neighborhood with many social problems. In this informal orphanage a lady and a group of supporters care for anywhere between 20 and 50 children who were abandoned found on the streets or under only marginal precarious care by their legal guardians. We cover the majority of food purchases and modest assistance with improvement and maintenance of the house as well as occasional events such as for Christmas and Easter. 6,376
