THESE PRESENTATIONS ARE FOLLOWED BY BREAK-OUT PANEL SESSIONS FOR FURTHER DISCUSSION. FACILITATED NETWORKING SEGMENTS ARE ALSO A KEY COMPONENT OF THE CONFERENCE, ALLOWING ATTENDEES TO MEET FELLOW MARKETERS AND BROADEN THEIR PROFESSIONAL NETWORKS. A PANEL OF ESTEEMED JUDGES FROM NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED BRANDS FROM ACROSS THE US REVIEW THE WORK AND THE WINNERS OF EACH CATEGORY ARE ANNOUNCED AT THE ANNUAL CRYSTAL AWARDS GALA. THERE WERE 550 ATTENDEES TO THE EVENT IN MAY OF 2024. CONTINUED FROM PSA 2- COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE: GRANT RECIPIENTS RECEIVE FUNDS TO HELP WITH A WIDE VARIETY OF MARKETING INITIATIVES TO PROMOTE THEIR CAUSES, ALLOWING THEM TO FULFILL THEIR MISSION AND PROVIDE SUPPORT AND SERVICES TO HOUSTON AND ITS SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES. IN ADDITION, AMA MEMBERS AND BOARD MEMBERS DONATE THEIR TIME AS MENTORS TO ASSIST THE GRANT RECIPIENTS WITH THEIR MARKETING, HELPING FURTHER TIE THE CHAPTER'S MISSION OF EDUCATION INTO ITS PHILANTHROPIC ENDEAVORS. THIS YEAR, AMA HOUSTON GRANTED 3,500 TO MO PIE U, INC. AND 4,600 TO THE POWER ON HEELS FUND. -> THE PENNY TODD SCHOLARSHIP- SINCE IT'S INCEPTION IN 2016, MORE THAN 40,000 HAS BEEN AWARDED TO DESERVING HOUSTON-AREA UNDERGRADUATE COLLEGE STUDENTS MAJORING IN MARKETING OR A RELATED FIELD. ONE SCHOLARSHIP IN THE AMOUNT OF 5,000 WAS AWARDED THIS FISCAL YEAR TO ANDRES VASQUEZ, A MARKETING UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH, AND A LOCAL HOUSTON AREA HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE. CONTINUED FROM PSA 3- NETWORKING & CAREER RESOURCES: MONTHLY NETWORKING EVENTS- AMA HOUSTON HOSTS FREE MONTHLY NETWORKING EVENTS WHICH NOT ONLY PROVIDE AN ENVIRONMENT CONDUCIVE FOR MEMBERS AND ATTENDEES TO ENGAGE WITH OTHERS IN THEIR INDUSTRY, SHARING THEIR IDEAS AND EXPERIENCES, BUT ALSO INTRODUCES NON-MEMBERS TO THE AMA HOUSTON ORGANIZATION, FURTHERING ITS REACH IN THE INDUSTRY. IN THE 2023-2024 YEAR, AMA HOUSTON WAS ABLE TO HOST 13 SUCH EVENTS WITH 737 TOTAL ATTENDEES. |
