| Form 990, Part VI, Line 4 | ARTICLE 4 DUES AND INITIATION FEES Section 1 Effective June 1 1968 the initiation fee charged by Local 592 UAW shall be twenty dollars. Five dollars of the initiation fee shall be set aside in a New Member Orientation Fund to be expended with the approval of the Regional Director. The monthly dues commencing with the first dues deduction of April 1968 shall be the sum equivalent of two and a half hours straight time pay per month levied in conformance with the current International Constitution plus fifty cents which has been approved to offset the cost of arbitration. ARTICLE 6 OFFICERS POWERS AND DUTIES Section 12 All members holding an elective Executive Board position in this Local Union are required to attend 1. Two out of three consecutive Membership meetings 2. Two out of three consecutive meetings other than Membership meetings unless officially excused for cause by the Executive Board 3. Failure of any elected Executive Board official to comply with the above attendance requirements shall result in automatic removal from their respective office or position. They shall not be eligible to run for any elected office for the balance of the term of office from which they were removed except for delegate to the Constitutional Convention 4. The Executive Board shall have the authority to rule on excuse. Examples of good cause would include but not be exclusively limited to circumstances beyond a member's control very substantial inconvenience or being on authorized Union Business during the time of the meeting. ARTICLE 7 COMMITTEES Section 1 Election Committee The Election Committee shall consist of seven no more than six members. This committee shall have complete charge of all general elections and UAW convention elections. Its actions shall be governed by the International Constitution the Local Union Bylaws and the instructions given by vote of any general Membership meeting held prior to the election. The UAW Guide for Local Union Election Committees shall also be used. Section 1A These members are to be elected at the special meeting referenced in Article 6 Section 2. Section 1B The Election Committee shall consist of seven no more than six members not nominated for any office. It shall be their duty to see that all ballots are coordinated with International Bylaws International Constitution and all applicable provisions of the Labor Management Reporting and Disclosure Act Title IV. All ballots shall have serial number markings. Also if more than one ballot is being used in the Local Union Election it is important that the ballots be of different colors. Election Committee members will receive lost time in accordance with Section 8A of these bylaws along with an additional fifteen dollars per day from the Local Union to cover the cost of meals. Retirees will be paid a stipend of seventy five dollars per day to work on the Election Committee. |
