Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc. has flourished on over 130 college campuses nationwide and continues to provide an avenue for educational excellence to individuals of diverse backgrounds. Our members recognize the need for togetherness and support one another in their varying cultures, identities, and backgrounds. On campus, we aim to provide a safe place for our collegiate members to learn, grow, and accomplish their dreams. Our organization continues to support our alumni after college through Alumni Associations, task forces, and volunteer opportunities. Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc. is a sisterhood of empowered members who have chosen this affiliation as a means to achieve personal development in their lives and make a difference in our global community. Through our network of thousands of sorority members, our organization continues to be a pioneer in the fraternal world through the development of innovative programming initiatives and being an advocate for social change.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 6 SLG is a private membership organization. Members are selected based on an individual meeting the criteria set forth by the organization and successful completion of the new member education program. Individuals selected for membership in SLG must have good standing or have graduated from a 4-year institution; be of good character; have an interest in activities that will enhance the academic atmosphere at their college, university, and/or community; and have a sincere desire to contribute to the work of the Sorority.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7a Members elect the governing body at the national convention, every other year. Terms are for two years.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7b Some policies/changes to bylaws are brought forth by the membership and then are voted on at our bi-annual convention. All active, good standing entities have 1 vote, this includes undergrad chapters and alum associations.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11b The Board of Directors receives a copy of Form 990 prior to filing.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12c All members at Headquarters, National Board of Directors and Regional Director are covered. All members must disclose any personal conflicts of interest that may prevent them from being unbiased in their role. Those with a conflict must recuse themselves from being involved in decisions or actions on applicable matters.

Salary increases are at the discretion of the National Board and shall be based on performance of the Executive Director, regional salaries of comparable positions, and current funding, expenses, and financial stability of SLG.
