	The VFW Department of Arizona maintains a robust network of both employees and volunteers whose main objective is helping veterans navigate the intricacies of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This includes applying for benefits, enrolling in health care and solving various problems that can and do arise when dealing with the VA. Our paid Service Officers obtained over 70 million dollars in direct compensation for Arizona disabled veterans during fiscal year 23-24 . This is in keeping with the VFW's slogan of Veterans Helping Veterans. The outright expenditures related to this important function approaches $210,000, not counting the untold hours by our volunteer members.

	The VFW Department of Arizona with the help of its state-wide affiliates has donated over $30,000 supporting National VFW Programs such as the National Home for Children, the VFW Veterans and Military Support, which includes Operation Uplink, Unmet Needs and Military Assistance Programs.

	The VFW Department of Arizona sponsors numerous youth activities, including Voice of Democracy oral essay scholarships for high school students, Patriot's Pen written essay scholarships for middle school students and yearly awards to exceptional teachers, first responders and police officers. We are also a primary sponsor the the Arizona 4H Sport Shooting Team, and an annual resident summer camp for children of active duty service members.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7a	State Officers are elected annually at our Convention. Individual posts have a vote count commensurate with their paid membership. Votes are cast by roll call vote, if an election is contested.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b	The 990 is available for inspection by anyone, by appointment at State Headquarters, during normal business hours.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c	Conflict of Interest and other policies are distributed to all elected officers at our annual state convention in June. conflict of interest is also included in General Order #1, issued every year by the State Commander.
