Return Reference Explanation
PART V, LINE 1A, COLUMN (A) CURRENT YEAR: BEGINNING OF YEAR ENDOWMENT FUND BALANCE AT AUGUST 1, 2023 WAS RESTATED TO CORRECT AN UNDERSTATEMENT OF ENDOWMENT FUND BALANCE AT JULY 31, 2023, REPORTED ON 2022 FORM 990.
PART V, LINE 4: The objective of the Organization is to maintain the principal endowment funds at the original amount designated by the donor while generating investment income to support the purposes designated by the donor. The Organization is able to draw down a certain percentage per year of the fair market value of the endowment fund per donors' wishes. The draw-down percentage will be determined by the Board of Directors on an annual basis. The investment policy to achieve this objective is to invest in various investment securities and interest-bearing accounts. Interest earned in relation to the endowment funds will be recorded as donor restricted until appropriated.
PART X, LINE 2: Under Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) Accounting Standards Codification (ASC) 740, Accounting for Uncertainty in Income Taxes, an organization must recognize the financial statement effects of a tax position taken for tax return purposes when it is more likely than not that the position will not be sustained upon examination by a taxing authority. Chabad on Campus International, Inc. does not believe it has taken any material uncertain tax positions and, accordingly, it has not recorded any liability for unrecognized tax benefits. The Organization has filed for and received income tax exemptions in the jurisdictions where it is required to do so. Additionally, the Organization has filed IRS Form 990 information returns, as required, and all other applicable returns in jurisdictions where so required. For the year ended July 31, 2024, there were no income tax-related interest or penalties recorded or included in the consolidated statement of activities. Management believes that the Organization is no longer subject to income tax examinations for years ended prior to July 31, 2020.
