Explanation:
As a non-profit we have a board of volunteers who manage the finances and accounting. At the end of 2022 the treasurer stepped down, but filed an extension for the 2023 EZ for the organization as the position was vacant. At the end of May 2024 I was asked to volunteer for the position and was not transition in until June of 2024. During the time of the position vacancy the POS system we use re-wrote their coding and it caused all of the bookkeeping to be incorrectly categorized. It was not communicated until April or 2025 that I learned it was an extension not the 990EZ that was filed for 2023 and that the financial coding was all incorrect. We first focused on completing out 2023 filing and requested and extension for 2024 while I had to go through our transactions to get correct numbers for 2024 filing.
