Part I, Line 2: Grants provided outside of the United States follow the same monitoring procedures as grants within the United States. All grants to Home Depot employees require documentation from the employee to support the financial need. The financial need must fall into an approved category of assistance. The documentation is reviewed by Homer Fund grant analysts and approved by a Homer Fund manager and the employee's sponsor. Funds are distributed directly to the employee's vendor when possible or to the employee for stipends. The Homer Fund uses a third party provider to manage the scholarship program. The provider receives documentation from Home Depot associates to verify eligibility and award scholarships. Scholarships are paid directly to the educational institution. Part I, Line 2: Grants to organizations have a tiered system with increasing levels of approval, due diligence, and legal review prior to awarding. Once the grant has been awarded, THDF requires a separate accounting of the expenditures of the funds by the grantee. THDF has the right to perform site visits, communicate with grantee staff, perform third party evaluations, and examine the books/records of the grantee. The grantee is required to submit a written report to THDF at the conclusion of the grant. All grants to Home Depot employees require documentation from the employee to support the financial need. The financial need must fall into an approved category of assistance. The documentation is reviewed by Homer Fund grant analysts and approved by a Homer Fund manager and the employee's sponsor. Funds are distributed directly to the employee's vendor when possible or to the employee for stipends. The Homer Fund uses a third party provider to manage the scholarship program. The provider receives documentation from Home Depot associates to verify eligibility and award scholarships. Scholarships are paid directly to the educational institution.
