What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The purpose of this organization is to unite the teachers, school-related personnel, and employees in South Suburban Cook County, Illinois into a voluntary federation. We believe that a federation composed of dedicated members can best articulate the needs, desires, and legitimate rights of this educational community.

Explanation:
I have filed electronically for our organization for the past several seasons as the union treasurer, and this year I saw that our gross receipts would be over $100,000, initiating a nominal fee through the online filing system with which we work. I decided to file on paper to save the organization a fee, as it is a non-profit and it was not budgeted. I sent the forms to the PO box in Utah by the original deadline. When I was informed by a compliance officer later this fall that the returns were not received, I provided evidence that I filed; however, it was brought to my attention that I neglected to e-file them. We are requesting that the fees be waved if at all possible. We understand that they should have been e-filed; it was an oversight when we saw that we would be charged a fee. We will continue to e-file by the deadline in the future. Thank you!
