Explanation:

The person responsible for filing the 990N was very ill and did not notify the Department of Arizona that the filing had not been done in the proper time frame. It was only when I was notified that I was now President of the American Legion District 6 Auxiliary, that I started checking our filing status to make sure we were up to date, only to find out that the filing had lapsed by 15 days too late to keep our Charitable Non-profit status. I have since filed the 1024 to reinstate our non-profit status, we are current on our 2024 IRS filing, and am now filing the 2022 tax year to bring us up to date. All Auxiliary Units in District 6 are on a checklist to make sure their filings are done in a timely manner.
