Schedule I, Part I, Line 2 Procedures for monitoring use of grant funds. THE RESEARCH FOUNDATION MONITORS THE USE OF GRANT FUNDS BY ADHERING TO SPECIFIC POLICIES AND PROCEDURES TO ENSURE THAT GRANT FUNDS ARE BEING USED FOR AUTHORIZED PURPOSES AND AS REQUIRED BY THE GRANT AGREEMENT AND APPLICABLE REGULATIONS. SCHOLARSHIPS AND FELLOWSHIPS ARE AWARDED TO THE UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE STUDENTS BASED UPON VARIOUS SETS OF CRITERIA ESTABLISHED BY THE RESTRICTED PROJECTS AND BY TYPE OF AWARDS LISTED IN THE CUNY CATALOGUE. FOR RESEARCH GRANTS, THE ORGANIZATION USES REPORTING, REGULAR CONTACT, SITE VISITS AND OTHER MEANS TO PROVIDE REASONABLE ASSURANCE THAT THE SUBRECIPIENT ADMINISTERS AWARDS IN COMPLIANCE WITH SUCH PROVISIONS AND THAT CONTRACT PERFORMANCE GOALS ARE ACHIEVED. THE ORGANIZATION REVIEWS ALL SUBRECIPIENT INVOICES AND COMPARES THEM TO THE SUBAWARD BUDGET. SITE VISITS ARE A DISCRETIONARY MONITORING PROCEDURE BUT ARE RECOMMENDED TO EVALUATE THE SUBRECIPIENT'S COMPLIANCE WITH THE SCIENTIFIC OBJECTIVES OF THE SPONSORED PROJECT AND THE APPROPRIATENESS OF THE SUBRECIPIENT'S ADMINISTRATION OF THE SUBAWARD. THE FREQUENCY OF SITE VISITS WILL DEPEND ON THE RISK ASSOCIATED WITH THE SUB- AWARD, LEVEL OF COMPLEXITY AND SCOPE OF WORK.
