Part X : FIN48 Footnote The Organization is exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code. However, income from activities not directly related to the Organization's tax-exempt purpose is subject to taxation as unrelated business income.The Alliance adopted the authoritative guidance relating to uncertainty in income taxes included in ASC Topic Income Taxes. These provisions provide consistent guidance for the accounting for uncertainty in income taxes recognized in an entity's financial statements and prescribe a threshold of more likely than not for recognition and de-recognition of tax positions taken or expected to be taken in a tax return. The Alliance performed an evaluation of uncertain tax positions for the year ended December 31, 2024, and determined that there were no material matters that would require recognition in the financial statements or that may have an effect on its tax-exempt status.
