THE ORGANIZATION DID NOT MEET THE ONE-THIRD PUBLIC SUPPORT TEST FOR THE CURRENT FIVE-YEAR COMPUTATION PERIOD DUE TO THE IMPACT OF A SINGLE, NONRECURRING MAJOR GIFT. IN 2024, THE ORGANIZATION RECEIVED A ONE-TIME, NONCASH CONTRIBUTION OF A BUILDING VALUED AT APPROXIMATELY $6.4 MILLION. THIS EXTRAORDINARY DONATION SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED TOTAL SUPPORT AND, AS A RESULT, REDUCED THE CALCULATED PUBLIC SUPPORT PERCENTAGE BELOW THE 33% THRESHOLD.EXCLUDING THIS UNUSUAL AND NONRECURRING CONTRIBUTION, THE ORGANIZATION'S PUBLIC SUPPORT PERCENTAGE FOR THE APPLICABLE PERIOD WOULD BE APPROXIMATELY 47%, CLEARLY DEMONSTRATING THAT IT NORMALLY RECEIVES A SUBSTANTIAL PORTION OF ITS SUPPORT FROM THE GENERAL PUBLIC.THE DONATED BUILDING IS LISTED ON THE NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES, AND UNDER THE TERMS OF THE GIFT, THE ORGANIZATION IS PROHIBITED FROM SELLING THE PROPERTY. WHILE THESE INDIVIDUALS SHARE A COMMON EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND, THEY REPRESENT A LARGE AND DIVERSE PUBLIC SEGMENT OF THE ENGINEERING PROFESSION AND REMAIN COMMITTED TO SERVING THE EDUCATIONAL AND COMMUNITY NEEDS OF RPI AND ITS STUDENTS. THE ORGANIZATION MAINTAINS PUBLIC ACCOUNTABILITY THROUGH TRANSPARENT OPERATIONS, REGULAR REPORTING TO DONORS, AND ENGAGEMENT WITH ALUMNI AND THE BROADER COMMUNITY.PUBLIC SOLICITATION AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUOUSLY SOLICITS PUBLIC SUPPORT THROUGH NEWSLETTERS, SOCIAL MEDIA, AND ALUMNI NETWORK COMMUNICATIONS. ANNUAL FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGNS AND EVENTS ARE DESIGNED TO INVOLVE A WIDE RANGE OF PARTICIPANTS, INCLUDING ALUMNI, STUDENTS AND FAMILIES. THESE ACTIVITIES REFLECT THE ORGANIZATION'S RESPONSIVENESS TO THE PUBLIC AND ITS EMPHASIS ON INCLUSIVITY AND TRANSPARENCY IN OPERATIONS.EDUCATIONAL AND SCIENTIFIC IMPACT: RPI IS KNOWN FOR ITS STRONG ACADEMIC PROGRAMS, ESPECIALLY IN ENGINEERING AND COMPUTER SCIENCE, AND ITS LONG HISTORY OF INNOVATION, PARTICULARLY IN SEMICONDUCTOR RESEARCH. THE INSTITUTE HAS PRODUCED INFLUENTIAL ALUMNI WHO HELPED FOUND COMPANIES LIKE TEXAS INSTRUMENTS AND NVIDIA, AND IT CONTINUES TO BE A LEADER IN FIELDS LIKE MATERIALS SCIENCE, BIOTECHNOLOGY, AND ENERGY SYSTEMS. NATURE OF ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIVENESS TO THE PUBLIC: THE ORGANIZATION'S CORE ACTIVITIES ADVANCE PUBLIC EDUCATION AND CONTRIBUTE TO THE PROFESSIONAL FORMATION OF FUTURE ENGINEERS.
