Briefly describe the organization’s mission: AIA Georgia promotes the profession of architecture through fellowship, advocacy, communications and education. The association supports the activities of four local chapters: Atlanta, Middle Georgia, Savannah, and Golden Isles. Additionally, three chapters that used to be supported by the association, are now "sections" under AIA Georgia, and no longer stand-alone 501c(6) organizations. Their activities are treated as programs on the AIA Georgia financial statements. AIA Georgia serves as THE VOICE OF THE ARCHITECTURAL PROFESSION AT THE STATE LEGISLATURE, provides continuing education through its various events and conferences, celebrates design through its annual design awards program, and supports members seeking elevation to Fellowship, or other seeking national recognition through other awards categories.

Part VI, Line 6	The membership of this Association consists of the Architect, Emeritus and Associate members of the Institute who have been assigned to the Association or who have been admitted to unassigned membership in this Association. All Architect, Emeritus and Associate members may vote on the election of officers, directors and representatives to the STATE AND National Organization. Allied members are individuals not otherwise eligible for membership in the Institute or the Association who may become Allied members if they have established professional reputations and are registered to practice their professions where such requirements exist or are employed outside of architectural practice but are involved in positions allied to the field of architecture. Allied members may include engineers, planners, landscape architects, sculptors, muralists, artists, and others in government, education, journalism, manufacturing, industry and/or other fields allied to architecture who the Association believes will provide a meaningful contribution by reason of their employment or occupation. Allied members do not have any voting rights.
Part VI,Line 7A & 7b	This association holds annual online elections for the purpose of electing Officers, Directors, and Representative to the National Organization (Strategic Council, Young Architect Forum, and National Associates Committee); additionally, two other representatives to the National Organization (Fellows Chair and Small Business Exchange) are selected by alternative methods at the same time of year (when their terms are ending) for receiving the annual reports of the Board and the Treasurer; and for the transaction of such other business as may be appropriate.
