STAFF WORKING WITH TRAINED VOLUNTEERS REVIEW ANNUAL REPORTS FROM THE AGENCIES TO ASSURE THEY MEET UNITED WAY OF SOUTHWESTERN PENNSYLVANIA GUIDELINES. GRANTS ARE UP FOR COMPETITIVE REVIEW EVERY THREE YEARS. PRE-GRANT DUE DILIGENCE IS DONE FOR ORGANIZATIONS RECEIVING DONOR DESIGNATED CONTRIBUTIONS TO VERIFY THEY ARE 100% COMPLIANT WITH IRS REGULATIONS FOR CHARITABLE STATUS.
