1 Medical treatments testing special diets and supplements are key expenses for the sanctuary. Many rescued animals arrive with health issues or develop conditions as they age. This year treatments were needed for a horse with cancer and a cat with thyroid disease. 10,008
2 The nonprofit provides essential care items such as food bedding litter and cleaning supplies for the animals at the Sanctuary. This support ensures the well-being and comfort of the horses dogs and cats in our care. 6,800
3 The Sanctuary supports vulnerable residents often elderly or with medical needs incurring significant costs for heating and cooling. Maintaining structures for rescued animals is also resource-intensive requiring constant attention and financial investment. 4 Our organization covers transportation expenses crucial for animal welfare such as hauling specialized timothy hay for a horse with a metabolic condition. This hay essential for the horses health is both costlier and sourced from a more distant location than standard hay.
