Briefly describe the organization’s mission: Local Union Number 180 of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America (the Local), was established to promote and protect the interest of our membership, to encourage the apprenticeship system and higher standard of skill, (Continued on Schedule O)to reduce the hours of labor, to secure adequate pay for our work, to elevate the standard of our craft, to cultivate a feeling of friendship among the members of this Brotherhood, to assist our members in procuring employment and to protect our members by legal and proper means against any injustice that may be done to them, and to improve the moral, social and intellectual conditions of our members and all working people.

Part X, Line 2:	The Local has adopted guidance on accounting for uncertainty in income taxes issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board. The Local management believes that the Entity has not taken uncertain tax positions that require adjustment to the financial statements as a tax liability. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 6	The Local has the following categories of membership: 1) Journeymen - members working the trade, paying full dues; 2) Apprentices - members learning the skills of the trade paying full dues; 3) Non-working - members who are disabled to work paying dues or who are called for military service paying no dues; 4) Retired - members who have retired from the trade paying reduced dues; and 5) Honorary - members who have retired from the trade with over 50 years of membership paying no dues.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7a	Members that have rights to elect members of a governing body: A member in "good standing" that has been a member of the local at least 12 consecutive months has the right to nominate and vote for the Officers of the Local Union every three years. In order to be in "good standing", members must not be more than 2 months in arrears in the payment of dues.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7b	Members in good standing have the right to vote, at monthly meetings (general membership), in regard to the following recommendations made by the Board: Contributions, conferences and training attended by Officers, or non-contracted expenses. Members are entitled to question any expense read during the general membership meetings and therefore the expenses could be denied or approved.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 8b	There are no committees with authority to act on behalf of the Board.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11b	A draft copy of Form 990 is provided to the governing board before it is filed. The Financial Secretary and Recording Secretary review and approve the draft before filing.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12c	The conflict of interest policy covers Directors, Officers, Members of the Board, and employees of the Local Union (Responsible Persons). Each Responsible Person must complete a disclosure of any and all conflicts on an annual basis. The conflict of interest policy is reviewed on an annual basis by each member of the Board. When a conflict arises the person with a conflict shall disclose all facts material to the conflict at the board meeting or, if they are unable to attend, must report the conflict so that the Chair can present it before the Board. The person with the conflict must recuse themselves from the room while the remaining Board votes on the matter. They must also recuse themselves from all matters concerning the conflict.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 15b	The Local is allotted 60 hours at bridgebuilder rate to pay the Board. Each position has been allocated a percentage based on duties and tasks. These percentages have been reviewed and approved by the Board and ratified at the Local membership meeting. Comparability data is used to help determine compensation.
