What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The mission of the Rotary Club of Marion is grounded in the Rotary principle of "Service Above Self." Since its establishment in 1939, the Club has advanced this mission by engaging members in service initiatives and collaborative projects that strengthen both local communities and international humanitarian efforts. Through sustained volunteerism, community partnerships, and annual fundraising activities conducted through the Rotary Club of Marion Foundation, Club members have contributed significantly to the well-being of the City of Marion and McDowell County by supporting projects and programs that provide meaningful community benefit. The Club places particular emphasis on identifying and addressing unmet or underfunded community needs, recognizing that strategic support of smaller-scale initiatives can produce substantial local impact. In addition, the Club remains committed to youth leadership development and international humanitarian initiatives.

28 The Rotary Club of Marion Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization (TIN: 93-2554006), sponsors all fundraising activities and events conducted in support of the Club's service initiatives. The Rotary Club of Marion provides the volunteer manpower and service delivery that have remained hallmarks of the Club since its founding in 1939. Despite the extraordinary demands created by Hurricane Helene, the Club continued its longstanding commitment to community and international service through initiatives that included: Read Across America Recognition of local high school students for exemplary academic and athletic achievement International wheelchair distribution efforts Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Quarterly Adopt-A-Highway community clean-up projects; meal packing for food distribution in Ukraine, Tournequets for Ukraine.
