What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? Black Phoenix Votes is a year-round political and electoral program grounded in Black liberation, strategic organizing, and bold governance, with a focused presence in Maricopa County. As a project of Black Political Cultivation AZ BPCAZ and aligned with the Arizona Working Families Party, we build political infrastructure to mobilize voters, elect progressive champions, and grow long-term power where it matters most. Our mission goes beyond winning electionswe are committed to reshaping what is politically possible for Black Arizonans and the working class by building power at the ballot box, in the streets, and inside the halls of governance.

28 During FY24, Black Phoenix Votes intentionally paused active program operations to focus on strategic reflection, organizational realignment, and capacity building. This period was dedicated to assessing past efforts, refining our goals, and developing a sharper, more effective strategy to advance Black liberation and working-class power in Maricopa County and beyond. Key accomplishments include strengthening leadership frameworks, deepening community relationships, and enhancing our political infrastructure to better mobilize voters and support progressive candidates in future election cycles.
