| PART VI, SECTION A, LINE 7a | Per the by-laws adopted January 2026, the organization has members or positions that can elect or appoint directors. The Board consists of 19 Directors, 18 of whom are voting and one non-voting. Four Ex Officio Directors???President, First Vice President, Recording Secretary, and Vice President Finance???are elected by the Members to serve on the Executive Committee, meaning Members participate in selecting these key directors. In addition, the immediate Past President serves as an Ex Officio member. Other directors are selected or recommended by the President and then approved by the Executive Committee and confirmed by the Board, including seven Directors who chair Standing Committees and five Directors who serve as Members-at-Large. The 18th voting member is either the 2nd VP or a Member-at-Large. The Parliamentarian is a non-voting member appointed by the President. Therefore, Members have the power to influence or directly elect several Board members through the election of officers, while the President???s nominees for other seats are subject to Executive Committee approval and Board confirmation. |
| PART VI, SECTION A, LINE 8a | The minutes of each meeting are kept by a secretary designated by the chair of the relevant committee, and these minutes (as well as requested reports) are produced for the Board, the Executive Committee, or the President. This indicates that meeting minutes are maintained for the governing body???s activities. |
| PART VI, SECTION A, LINE 8b | Each committee has a designated secretary to take minutes, and committees may issue reports as requested by the Board, the Executive Committee, or the President. The Governance Committee itself oversees related subcommittees (Bylaws, Nominating, Strategic Planning), and its structure and procedures are defined to ensure consistent documentation and reporting. |
| PART VI, SECTION B, LINE 11 | The organization s federal form 990 was provided to each voting member of its governing body, its board of directors, for review prior to filing with the IRS. The organization s finance committee has the responsibility to oversee, review and approve the federal form 990, including the preparation, review, and filing process. As part of the tax return process, the organization hired a professional firm with experience and expertise in non-for-profit tax return preparation to prepare the federal form 990. The firm s tax professionals worked closely with the organization s finance personnel and various other individuals within the organization and system ( internal working group ) to obtain the information needed in order to prepare a complete and accurate tax return. The firm prepared a draft federal form 990 and furnished it to the organization s internal working group for review. The organization s internal working group reviewed the draft federal form 990 and discussed questions and comments with the firm. Revisions were made to the draft federal form 990 where necessary and a final draft was furnished by the firm to the organization s internal working group for final review and approval prior to providing a copy to each voting member of the board of directors and filing with the IRS. |
| PART VI, SECTION B, LINE 12c | The organization and system regularly monitor and enforce compliance with its conflict-of-interest policy. Annually, all members of the board of directors are required to review the existing conflict of interest policy and complete a questionnaire. The completed questionanaires are returned to the Chair of Governance Committee and reviewed on a yearly basis with the board of directors during annual meetings. |
| PART VI, SECTION C, LINE 19 | The organization s filed Articles of Incorporation and any amendments can be obtained and reviewed through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. |
| PART IX, LINE 11g | Program Contractors (Column B - Program Service Expenses); Contracted Shuttle Service for Designer House Special Event (Column D - Fundraising Expenses). Part III, 4a: of Honor in fiscal year ending June 30, 2025. The VIA has a strong and continuing relationship with Presbyterian Senior Living and the Home Life Commitee visits Pine Run and Lakeview to interact with residents by celebrating holidays, hosting sing-alongs, delivering notes and flowers monthly. The Bucks County Designer House & Gardens is the organization s largest fundrasier. Over the years, 49 houses have raised more than $5,500,000 to further the VIA s mission to enhance the health and well-being of Central Bucks County and surrounding communities. The event typically includes an Empty House Party, an Opening Gala, and daily House Tours. The net proceeds from Sycamore Lane Farm, the Designer House in May 2024, provided Doylestown Health with $184,100 for its maternity ward. We also distributed $78,900 to various committiees within the Village Improvement Association. From April 27 - May 25, 2025, Hidden Valley Farm was the site of the 2025 Designer House. The proceeds from this house were distribued in October 2025, after the close of the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025. The VIA has chosen to delay the presentation of the 50th Designer House at this time as we settle into our role as a stand-alone non-profit organization. Part III, 4b: about 350 Target gift cards for families in need in the Central Bucks School District to use for clothing, school supplies, and basic items. Part III, 4c: featuring the Victorian lifestyle, highlighting holiday and social customs of the time. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1972. |
| PART VII, COLUMN B, HOURS PER WEEK | Advisory non-voting position. |
| FORM 990, PART III, LINE 3 | Effective April 1, 2025, Doylestown Health and its affiliates became integrated into the University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPHS).
