Sponsored six educational workshops on quilting techniques, and 10 educational lectures at monthly guild meetings featuring both national and local artists.3. Made and donated 691 quilts to area nonprofit organizations working with children, veterans and domestic violence victims. This included a Community Sew in day where 34 members worked together to finish a large number of community service quilts. 4. Donated 4 quilts to area nonprofit organizations to be raffled or auctioned off at their fundraising events. 5. Sponsored hosted an accredited judge for the New Mexico State Fair quilting competition. Also, created a mini competition called the State Fair Challenge requiring participants to use a certain fabric in a creative way and display it at the NM State Fair. 6. Donated a Balloon Fiesta Quilt from 1981 which had been donated back to the Guild to the Albuquerque Museum of Art to become part of their permanent collection. |
