BNL is a scientific research facility funded by the US Department of Energy and employes approximately 2,900 employees. All members of BERA's Governing Board are employees of BNL and are elected by the employees of BNL to three year terms. All board members and officers serve on a voluntary basis and receive no compensation. Participant fees are offered at or near cost to BNL employees and their families.

Briefly describe the organization’s mission: The Brookhaven Employees Recreation Association is an organization that provides recreational and social events and activities to employees of Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL). BNL is a scientific research facility funded by the US Department of Energy and employees approximately 2,700 employees. . All members of BERA's Governing Board are employees of BNL and are elected by the employees of BNL to three year terms. All board members and officers serve on a voluntary basis and receive no compensation. Participant fees are offered at or near cost to BNL employees and their families.

	During FY25, BERA offered various classes, clubs, activities trips and events to employees of BNL. In addition BERA provides a summer camp program for BNL employees, operates an employees store which sells BNL related merchandise. BERA operates a swimming pool open to all BNL employees. All facilities are provided by Brookhaven National Laboratory and are the property of the Federal government. All activities are offered at at or near cost to all employees.
