What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? Cazenovia American Legion Post 88 was established during 1919 as a nonprofit veterans service organization. For the past 107 years the Post has continuously been providing services and support to veterans and their families in the community in which they live
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 Boys and Girls State - Is a summer leadership and citizenship training program for High School juniors. Participants learn Government leadership skills and understand American Citizenship. Sent 1 Girl to Girls State and 5 Boys to Boys State. Leads Youth to be responsible and active citizens in their community. American Legion Cazenovia Post 88 is one of the top post in the county for sponsoring Girls and Boys State.

29 Scouts of America: Troop 18. American Legion Cazenovia Post 88 is the charter organization for Cazenovia Scout Troop 18 In 2025 the troop consisted of approx. 20 youth. 3 of which made Eagle Scout. Our post manages the Troop 18 savings account but Scout Troop leadership determines how it is spent. This is not post funds.

30 Baseball American Legion Cazenovia Post 88 has been a strong supporter of Youth Baseball. The Post manages and maintains 2 baseball fields according to NCAA standards and is used throughout the season by various youth leagues and adult baseball teams. Activities are coordinated by a Post Officer.

Activity - Post 88 has for many years organized the Town of Cazenovia Memorial Day parade. We also take the lead color guard role in the 4th of July Parade Patriots Day Ceremony and the Veterans Day Parade. The Post Color Guard leads all parade marchers conducts a solemn ceremony commemorating veterans service with a guest speaker from various branches of the military a wreath dedication a flag raising and an Honor Guard rifle salute that is organized with the Post Commander.

Post 88 maintains an Honor Garden where a veterans name and military service is memorialized with engraved bricks around the US Flag and Flags of the military branches.
