What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? During the year the Harrisburg Education Association HEA successfully bargained a collective bargaining agreement on behalf of its approximately 500 members ensuring fair wages benefits and working conditions for educators within the district. HEA also organized and provided professional development opportunities and training sessions designed to support instructional excellence educator growth and leadership development. Additionally the Association recognized and celebrated the achievements of teachers in the bargaining unit through awards public acknowledgments and events that highlight professional accomplishments and dedication to student success.

28 The Unions primary mission is to represent protect and advance the professional economic and working conditions of its members. A key program service in fulfilling this mission is the effective administration of union governance representation and member advocacy through the work of elected Executive Board members and Union Representatives.The Union compensates Executive Board members and Representatives for time spent performing union duties outside of their regular professional responsibilities. This program ensures the Unions operations are effective equitable and sustainable.
