PRIOR TO MAKING A CONTRIBUTION, GRANTOR STAFF ENSURES THAT THE RECEIVING ORGANIZATION (GRANTEE) WILL USE THE FUNDS TO BOLSTER THE MISSION AND GOALS OF THE GRANTOR. MOST GRANTS ARE REPEATED FROM PRIOR YEARS AND THE PROGRAMS ARE WELL KNOWN. EXTRA CARE NEEDS TO BE USED FOR NEW GRANTS. THE GRANTEE PROVIDES A REQUEST AND OR PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL, SUCH AS BROCHURES, THAT DESCRIBE THE EVENT OR PROGRAM FOR WHICH THE FUNDS ARE BEING SOUGHT.
