Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7b At a membership meeting the membership can take a vote on any issue. The membership can also vote to overturn the actions of the Executive Board, as well as enact changes to the constitution and bylaws.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b The AFT Finance department inputs the financial data into the database of an IRS-authorized vendor. AFT notifies the President and Treasurer that the draft (virtual) copy of the 990 form is available for review and approval before the Organization electronically submits it to the IRS. The AFT Finance department also notifies the Organization that the 990 should be made available for public view. The The organization reviews the Form 990 at a business meeting of the Board.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15 The Executive Board consulted outside independent sources in the review of the salary of the President in jobs comparable to the President. In addition, after determination, the salary of the President is based on years of service according to the Teachers' Pay Schedule. The salary of the President also was accounted for due to the additional time attributed to working with the ISD School Board outside of normal working hours. The Executive Board reviewed the salary of the Treasurer. he salary of the current Treasurer was reduced to a base pay amount.
