Provide descriptions required for Part V, Section B, lines 2, 3j, 5, 6a, 6b, 7d, 11, 13b, 13h, 15e, 16j, 18e, 19e, 20a, 20b, 20c, 20d, 20e, 21c, 21d, 23, and 24. If applicable, provide separate descriptions for each hospital facility in a facility reporting group, designated by facility reporting group letter and hospital facility line number from Part V, Section A (“A, 1,” “A, 4,” “B, 2,” “B, 3,” etc.) and name of hospital facility.
Form and Line Reference Explanation
JOHNS HOPKINS ALL CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL PART V, SECTION B, LINE 5: JOHNS HOPKINS ALL CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL INCORPORATED INPUT FROM A BROAD RANGE OF COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS TO INFORM THE COMMUNITY HEALTH NEEDS ASSESSMENT (CHNA). INPUT WAS GATHERED THROUGH A COMBINATION OF METHODS, INCLUDING COMMUNITY SURVEYS, KEY INFORMANT INTERVIEWS, FOCUS GROUPS, AND COLLABORATION WITH LOCAL PARTNERS.KEY INFORMANT INTERVIEWS AND FOCUS GROUPS WERE CONDUCTED WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF ORGANIZATIONS SERVING FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN. THESE DISCUSSIONS PROVIDED QUALITATIVE INSIGHTS INTO COMMUNITY HEALTH NEEDS, BARRIERS TO CARE, AND PRIORITY AREAS FOR INTERVENTION. IN ADDITION, QUANTITATIVE DATA WERE COLLECTED THROUGH COMMUNITY-WIDE SURVEYS DISTRIBUTED TO RESIDENTS, PATIENTS, AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS.THE HOSPITAL CONSULTED WITH A DIVERSE GROUP OF ORGANIZATIONS AND STAKEHOLDERS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: LOCAL PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENTS FEDERALLY QUALIFIED HEALTH CENTERS (FQHCS) SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND SCHOOL-BASED HEALTH PROGRAMS COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROVIDERS SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCIES FAITH-BASED ORGANIZATIONS ADVOCACY GROUPS THESE ORGANIZATIONS REPRESENTED FAMILIES OF CHILDREN AND/OR ADOLESCENTS AND PROVIDED INPUT ON THEIR BEHALF. THE HOSPITAL ALSO ENGAGED INTERNAL CLINICAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE LEADERS, INCLUDING PHYSICIANS, NURSES, AND COMMUNITY HEALTH STAFF, TO ALIGN COMMUNITY-IDENTIFIED NEEDS WITH THE HOSPITAL'S CAPABILITIES AND STRATEGIC PRIORITIES. THROUGH THIS COMPREHENSIVE, COLLABORATIVE PROCESS, THE HOSPITAL ENSURED THAT THE CHNA REFLECTED THE PERSPECTIVES AND PRIORITIES OF THE COMMUNITIES IT SERVES.
JOHNS HOPKINS ALL CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL PART V, SECTION B, LINE 6B: THE ALL4HEALTH COLLABORATION CONDUCTED THE CHNA. THE COLLABORATION COMPRISES: JOHNS HOPKINS ALL CHILDREN'S, BAYCARE, ORLANDO HEALTH, TAMPA GENERAL, MOFFITT CANCER, AND ADVENT HEALTH.
JOHNS HOPKINS ALL CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL PART V, SECTION B, LINE 11: JOHNS HOPKINS ALL CHILDREN'S IS ADDRESSING THE SIGNIFICANT HEALTH NEEDS IDENTIFIED IN THE MOST RECENT CHNA THROUGH A COMBINATION OF DIRECT SERVICES, COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAMS, STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS, AND TARGETED INVESTMENTS. IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGIES WERE DEVELOPED TO ALIGN WITH THE HOSPITAL'S MISSION, AVAILABLE RESOURCES, AND AREAS OF EXPERTISE, WITH A PARTICULAR FOCUS ON IMPROVING ACCESS TO CARE AND ADDRESSING SOCIAL DRIVERS OF HEALTH.KEY INITIATIVES INCLUDE EXPANDING ACCESS TO PREVENTIVE AND PRIMARY CARE SERVICES THROUGH SCHOOL-BASED HEALTH PROGRAMS AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH. THE HOSPITAL HAS ALSO IMPLEMENTED HEALTH EDUCATION AND PREVENTION EFFORTS FOCUSED ON PRIORITY AREAS SUCH AS NUTRITION, PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, INJURY PREVENTION, AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH. THESE EFFORTS ARE DELIVERED THROUGH COLLABORATIONS WITH SCHOOL DISTRICTS, COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS, AND PUBLIC HEALTH PARTNERS TO ENSURE BROAD REACH.IN ADDITION, THE HOSPITAL IS STRENGTHENING CARE COORDINATION AND REFERRAL PATHWAYS TO CONNECT PATIENTS AND FAMILIES WITH THE CLINICAL AND SOCIAL SERVICES THEY NEED, INCLUDING BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SUPPORT, FOOD ASSISTANCE, AND OTHER COMMUNITY RESOURCES. DATA COLLECTION AND EVALUATION PROCESSES ARE IN PLACE TO MONITOR PROGRESS, MEASURE OUTCOMES, AND DRIVE CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT.WHILE THE HOSPITAL IS COMMITTED TO ADDRESSING A WIDE RANGE OF IDENTIFIED NEEDS, SOME SIGNIFICANT NEEDS REMAIN UNADDRESSED DUE TO LIMITED RESOURCES, A LACK OF ORGANIZATIONAL EXPERTISE, OR THE PRESENCE OF OTHER COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS BETTER POSITIONED TO LEAD THOSE EFFORTS. FOR EXAMPLE, NEEDS RELATED TO AFFORDABLE HOUSING, TRANSPORTATION, DENTAL CARE, OR WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT ARE RECOGNIZED AS CRITICAL TO COMMUNITY HEALTH BUT FALL OUTSIDE THE HOSPITAL'S PRIMARY SCOPE OF SERVICES. IN THESE CASES, THE HOSPITAL SUPPORTS THESE EFFORTS INDIRECTLY BY PARTNERING WITH, REFERRING TO, OR PARTICIPATING IN COALITIONS WITH ORGANIZATIONS THAT HAVE THE APPROPRIATE EXPERTISE AND INFRASTRUCTURE.THE HOSPITAL PRIORITIZES INITIATIVES WITH THE GREATEST IMPACT. IT CONTINUES TO COLLABORATE WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS TO ENSURE THAT ALL IDENTIFIED NEEDS ARE ADDRESSED COLLECTIVELY, EVEN WHEN THE HOSPITAL IS NOT DIRECTLY LEADING THEM.

Form and Line Reference Explanation
PART I, LINE 3C: IN ADDITION TO FPG, THE HOSPITAL ALSO PROVIDES FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE DISCOUNTS BASED ON MEDICAL FINANCIAL HARDSHIP CAUSED BY SIGNIFICANT MEDICAL DEBT. FACTORS THE HOSPITAL CONSIDERS WHEN EVALUATING MEDICAL DEBT LEVELS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE INCLUDE (1) MEDICAL DEBT INCURRED OVER THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE DATE OF THE FINANCIAL HARDSHIP ASSISTANCE APPLICATION, (2) LIQUID ASSETS (LEAVING A RESIDUAL OF $10,000), AND (3) FAMILY INCOME FOR THE TWELVE CALENDAR MONTHS PRECEDING THE DATE OF THE FINANCIAL HARDSHIP ASSISTANCE APPLICATION.
PART I, LINE 7: A COST-TO-CHARGE RATIO (FROM WORKSHEET 2) IS USED TO CALCULATE THE AMOUNTS ON LINE 7A&7B (FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AT COST AND UNREIMBURSED MEDICAID). THE AMOUNTS FOR LINES 7E-7I COME FROM THE BOOKS AND RECORDS OF SPECIFIC SEGMENTS OF THE ORGANIZATION AND WOULD NOT BE BASED ON A COST-TO CHARGE RATIO.
PART I, LINE 7G: SUBSIDIZED HEALTH SERVICES DO NOT INCLUDE ANY COSTS ATTRIBUTABLE TO A PHYSICIAN CLINIC.
PART II, COMMUNITY BUILDING ACTIVITIES: JOHNS HOPKINS ALL CHILDREN'S COMMUNITY-BUILDING ACTIVITIES PROMOTE THE HEALTH OF THE COMMUNITIES IT SERVES BY ADDRESSING THE UNDERLYING SOCIAL, ECONOMIC, AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE HEALTH OUTCOMES. RECOGNIZING THAT CLINICAL CARE ALONE ACCOUNTS FOR ONLY A PORTION OF OVERALL HEALTH, THE HOSPITAL INVESTS IN STRATEGIES THAT STRENGTHEN COMMUNITY CAPACITY AND EXPAND ACCESS TO RESOURCES THAT SUPPORT WELL-BEING.THE HOSPITAL PARTNERS WITH LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS, SCHOOLS, PUBLIC HEALTH AGENCIES, AND COMMUNITY-BASED GROUPS TO ADVANCE INITIATIVES THAT EXPAND ACCESS TO EDUCATION, CREATE SAFE ENVIRONMENTS, AND PROMOTE ECONOMIC STABILITY. FOR EXAMPLE, THE HOSPITAL COLLABORATES WITH SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS TO IMPLEMENT SCHOOL-BASED PROGRAMS THAT PROMOTE HEALTH EDUCATION, EARLY INTERVENTION, AND ACCESS TO CARE FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES, ESPECIALLY IN UNDERSERVED AREAS.COMMUNITY-BUILDING EFFORTS ALSO INCLUDE PARTICIPATION IN LOCAL COALITIONS AND CROSS-SECTOR INITIATIVES TO ADDRESS PRIORITY ISSUES, INCLUDING FOOD INSECURITY, INJURY PREVENTION, BEHAVIORAL HEALTH, MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH, AND FATHERHOOD SERVICES. THROUGH THESE PARTNERSHIPS, THE HOSPITAL HELPS COORDINATE RESOURCES, SHARE EXPERTISE, AND ALIGN STRATEGIES TO ACHIEVE A BROADER, MORE SUSTAINABLE IMPACT.
PART III, LINE 2: THE PROVISION FOR BAD DEBTS IS BASED UPON A COMBINATION OF THE PAYOR SOURCE, THE AGING OF RECEIVABLES AND MANAGEMENT'S ASSESSMENT OF HISTORICAL AND EXPECTED NET COLLECTIONS, TRENDS IN HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE, AND OTHER COLLECTION INDICATORS.
PART III, LINE 3: JOHNS HOPKINS ALL CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL (JHACH) DOES NOT REPORT AN ESTIMATE FOR THE PORTION OF BAD DEBT EXPENSE THAT MAY BE ATTRIBUTABLE TO PATIENTS ELIGIBLE UNDER THE ORGANIZATION'S FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE POLICY. JHACH TAKES THE POSITION THAT AMPLE OPPORTUNITY AND ASSISTANCE IS PROVIDED TO THE PATIENT TO QUALIFY UNDER THE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE POLICY. IF SUFFICIENT INFORMATION IS NOT PROVIDED, THEN JHACH MUST ASSUME THE PATIENT DOES NOT QUALIFY.
PART III, LINE 4: JOHNS HOPKINS HEALTH SYSTEM CONSOLIDATED AUDITED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS PAGE 17.
PART III, LINE 8: PART III, LINE 7 - THE SHORTFALL IN MEDICARE ALLOWABLE COSTS IS NOT TREATED AS A COMMUNITY BENEFIT.PART III, LINES 5 AND 6 METHODOLOGY: A STEP-DOWN PROCESS IS USED TO ALLOCATE ADMINISTRATIVE AND GENERAL COSTS TO PATIENT CARE DEPARTMENTS, AS WELL AS DEPARTMENTS THAT ARE NON-ALLOWABLE FOR MEDICARE. UPON ALLOCATION, A DAILY COST RATE IS COMPUTED FOR ROOM AND BOARD SERVICES. THE RESULTING DAILY COSTS ARE APPLIED TO THE NUMBER OF MEDICARE DAYS TO DETERMINE ALLOWABLE ROOM AND BOARD COSTS. FOR ANCILLARY SERVICES, A RATIO OF COST TO CHARGES (RCC) IS COMPUTED USING TOTAL ANCILLARY CHARGES. THE RCC IS THEN APPLIED TO CHARGES INCURRED BY MEDICARE PATIENTS TO DETERMINE ALLOWABLE MEDICARE COSTS. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF PASS-THROUGH COSTS (CAPITAL-RELATED, NON-PHYSICIAN ANESTHETIST, AND MEDICAL EDUCATION COSTS), ALLOWABLE MEDICARE COSTS ARE SUBJECT TO A TEFRA TARGET AMOUNT, WHICH IS COMPUTED ON A DISCHARGE BASIS. IF ALLOWABLE COSTS EXCEED THE TEFRA TARGET AMOUNT, THE FACILITY IS REIMBURSED IN THE AMOUNT OF THE TARGET LIMIT PLUS A RELIEF PAYMENT. IF ALLOWABLE COSTS ARE UNDER THE TARGET AMOUNT, THE FACILITY IS REIMBURSED BY THE AMOUNT OF THE TARGET LIMIT PLUS A BONUS PAYMENT.
PART VI, LINE 2: IN ADDITION TO THE CHNA, THE HOSPITAL CONTINUOUSLY ASSESSES THE HEALTH CARE NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITIES IT SERVES THROUGH ONGOING DATA COLLECTION, COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT, AND PROGRAM-LEVEL EVALUATIONS.WE REGULARLY COLLECT REAL-TIME INPUT THROUGH MECHANISMS SUCH AS PATIENT SATISFACTION SURVEYS, COMMUNITY FEEDBACK FORMS, AND INFORMAL FEEDBACK GATHERED DURING OUTREACH EVENTS AND PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION. THESE INSIGHTS HELP IDENTIFY EMERGING NEEDS, BARRIERS TO CARE, AND SERVICE GAPS BETWEEN CHNA CYCLES.PROGRAM-SPECIFIC ASSESSMENTS ARE ALSO CONDUCTED TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE NEEDS OF TARGET POPULATIONS. FOR EXAMPLE, SCHOOL-BASED AND COMMUNITY HEALTH PROGRAMS USE PRE- AND POST-ASSESSMENTS, NEEDS ASSESSMENTS, AND UTILIZATION DATA TO EVALUATE PARTICIPANTS' HEALTH KNOWLEDGE, BEHAVIORS, AND ACCESS TO CARE. THIS ENABLES THE HOSPITAL TO TAILOR INTERVENTIONS AND RESPOND TO LOCAL TRENDS.IN ADDITION, THE HOSPITAL MAINTAINS ONGOING ENGAGEMENT WITH COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS, INCLUDING SCHOOL PERSONNEL, PUBLIC HEALTH PARTNERS, AND COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS. REGULAR MEETINGS, COALITION PARTICIPATION, AND PARTNER CHECK-INS PROVIDE QUALITATIVE INSIGHTS INTO EVOLVING COMMUNITY NEEDS.THE HOSPITAL ALSO REVIEWS INTERNAL DATA, INCLUDING SERVICE UTILIZATION TRENDS, EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT VISITS, AND REFERRAL PATTERNS, TO IDENTIFY HIGH-NEED POPULATIONS AND AREAS THAT MAY REQUIRE ADDITIONAL RESOURCES OR INTERVENTIONS.
PART VI, LINE 3: NOTIFICATION ABOUT CHARITY AVAILABLE FROM JHACH, WHICH INCLUDES A CONTACT NUMBER, IS DISTRIBUTED BY JHACH BY VARIOUS MEANS, WHICH INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO, THE PUBLICATION OF NOTICES IN PATIENT BILLS AND POSTING NOTICES IN EMERGENCY ROOMS, IN THE CONDITIONS OF ADMISSION FORM, AT CARE CENTERS, ADMITTING AND REGISTRATION DEPARTMENTS, HOSPITAL BUSINESS OFFICES, AND PATIENT FINANCIAL SERVICES OFFICES THAT ARE LOCATED ON FACILITY CAMPUSES, AND AT OTHER PUBLIC PLACES AS JHACH ELECTS. A SUMMARY OF JHACH'S FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE POLICY IS PROVIDED TO PATIENTS UPON INTAKE OR DISCHARGE AND IS AVAILABLE TO ALL PATIENTS UPON REQUEST. JHACH PUBLISHES AND WIDELY PUBLICIZES A SUMMARY OF THE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE POLICY ON THEIR WEBSITE, IN BROCHURES AVAILABLE IN PATIENT ACCESS SITES AND AT OTHER PLACES WITHIN THE COMMUNITY SERVED BY JHACH. SUCH NOTICES AND SUMMARY INFORMATION IS PROVIDED IN THE PRIMARY LANGUAGES SPOKEN BY THE POPULATION SERVICED BY JHACH.
PART VI, LINE 4: JOHNS HOPKINS ALL CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL SERVES A DIVERSE PEDIATRIC POPULATION WITHIN ITS DEFINED SERVICE AREA. THIS AREA INCLUDES A MIX OF URBAN, SUBURBAN, AND SELECT RURAL COMMUNITIES, EACH WITH UNIQUE CHALLENGES RELATED TO ACCESS TO PEDIATRIC HEALTHCARE SERVICES, PREVENTIVE CARE, AND FAMILY SUPPORT RESOURCES.AS A PEDIATRIC HOSPITAL, THE PRIMARY POPULATION SERVED INCLUDES INFANTS, CHILDREN, ADOLESCENTS, AND THEIR FAMILIES. A SUBSTANTIAL PROPORTION OF FAMILIES IN THE SERVICE AREA HAVE INCOMES AT OR BELOW THE FEDERAL POVERTY GUIDELINES, WHICH CAN AFFECT ACCESS TO CONSISTENT HEALTHCARE, NUTRITIOUS FOOD, STABLE HOUSING, AND OTHER KEY DRIVERS OF CHILD HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENT.INSURANCE COVERAGE AMONG THE PEDIATRIC POPULATION FURTHER REFLECTS THESE SOCIOECONOMIC CONDITIONS. MEDICAID COVERS A LARGE PERCENTAGE OF THE HOSPITAL'S PATIENTS, AND MANY ARE UNINSURED, UNDERSCORING THE HOSPITAL'S CRITICAL ROLE AS A SAFETY-NET PROVIDER FOR CHILDREN WHO MAY OTHERWISE FACE BARRIERS TO TIMELY AND APPROPRIATE CARE. THE HOSPITAL OPERATES WITHIN A BROADER HEALTHCARE SYSTEM THAT INCLUDES MULTIPLE HOSPITALS AND OUTPATIENT PROVIDERS; HOWEVER, GAPS REMAIN IN ACCESS TO PEDIATRIC PRIMARY CARE, SPECIALTY SERVICES, AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH RESOURCES. DEMAND FOR PEDIATRIC BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES CONTINUES TO OUTSTRIP AVAILABLE RESOURCES ACROSS MUCH OF THE SERVICE AREA.ADDITIONALLY, PORTIONS OF THE HOSPITAL'S SERVICE AREA ARE DESIGNATED AS FEDERALLY RECOGNIZED MEDICALLY UNDERSERVED AREAS AND HEALTH PROFESSIONAL SHORTAGE AREAS, INCLUDING SHORTAGES OF PEDIATRIC PRIMARY CARE AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROVIDERS. THESE FACTORS UNDERSCORE THE IMPORTANCE OF A PEDIATRIC-FOCUSED APPROACH TO COMMUNITY HEALTH, AS EARLY INTERVENTION, PREVENTION, AND ACCESS TO COMPREHENSIVE CARE IN CHILDHOOD ARE CRITICAL TO IMPROVING LONG-TERM HEALTH OUTCOMES. THE HOSPITAL USES THIS UNDERSTANDING TO GUIDE ITS PROGRAMS, PARTNERSHIPS, AND INVESTMENTS TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES ACROSS THE COMMUNITY.
PART VI, LINE 5: THE HOSPITAL FURTHERS ITS EXEMPT PURPOSE OF PROMOTING COMMUNITY HEALTH THROUGH A COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH THAT EXTENDS BEYOND CLINICAL CARE AND PLACES A STRONG EMPHASIS ON IMPROVING HEALTH OUTCOMES FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES.AS A PEDIATRIC-FOCUSED ORGANIZATION, THE HOSPITAL IS COMMITTED TO PROVIDING HIGH-QUALITY, EQUITABLE CARE TO ALL CHILDREN, REGARDLESS OF THEIR ABILITY TO PAY. THE HOSPITAL MAINTAINS AN OPEN MEDICAL STAFF AND COLLABORATES WITH A BROAD NETWORK OF PEDIATRIC SPECIALISTS, PRIMARY CARE PROVIDERS, AND COMMUNITY-BASED CLINICIANS TO ENSURE CONTINUITY OF CARE AND ACCESS TO A FULL SPECTRUM OF SERVICES.GOVERNANCE STRUCTURES ALSO SUPPORT THE HOSPITAL'S COMMUNITY-FOCUSED MISSION. THE HOSPITAL'S GOVERNING BOARD INCLUDES INDIVIDUALS WITH DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS AND EXPERTISE, INCLUDING COMMUNITY REPRESENTATION, TO HELP ENSURE THAT COMMUNITY PERSPECTIVES AND NEEDS ARE REFLECTED IN STRATEGIC DECISION-MAKING.THE HOSPITAL REINVESTS SURPLUS FUNDS IN PROGRAMS, SERVICES, TECHNOLOGY, AND COMMUNITY-BENEFIT INITIATIVES THAT DIRECTLY SUPPORT THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF THE POPULATIONS IT SERVES. THESE INVESTMENTS INCLUDE EXPANDING PEDIATRIC SPECIALTY SERVICES, ENHANCING BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CAPACITY, SUPPORTING SCHOOL- AND COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAMS, AND ADDRESSING SOCIAL DRIVERS OF HEALTH, SUCH AS FOOD INSECURITY, INJURY PREVENTION, AND HEALTH EDUCATION.IN ADDITION, THE HOSPITAL PROVIDES FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AND CHARITY CARE TO ELIGIBLE PATIENTS AND FAMILIES, HELPING REDUCE FINANCIAL BARRIERS TO CARE. THE HOSPITAL ALSO PARTICIPATES IN PUBLIC INSURANCE PROGRAMS, INCLUDING MEDICAID, TO ENSURE THAT VULNERABLE PEDIATRIC POPULATIONS RECEIVE NECESSARY SERVICES.THE HOSPITAL ACTIVELY ENGAGES IN COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS AND COLLABORATES WITH SCHOOLS, PUBLIC HEALTH AGENCIES, AND COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS TO EXTEND ITS REACH BEYOND TRADITIONAL CLINICAL SETTINGS. THROUGH THESE PARTNERSHIPS, THE HOSPITAL SUPPORTS PREVENTIVE CARE, EARLY INTERVENTION, AND HEALTH EDUCATION TO PROMOTE LONG-TERM HEALTH AND WELL-BEING.
PART VI, LINE 6: THE JOHNS HOPKINS HEALTH SYSTEM CORPORATION (JHHSC) IS INCORPORATED IN THE STATE OF MARYLAND TO, AMONG OTHER THINGS, FORMULATE POLICY AMONG AND PROVIDE CENTRALIZED MANAGEMENT FOR JHHSC AND AFFILIATES (JHHS). JHHS IS ORGANIZED AND OPERATED FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROMOTING HEALTH BY FUNCTIONING AS A PARENT HOLDING COMPANY OF AFFILIATES WHOSE COMBINED MISSION IS TO PROVIDE PATIENT CARE IN THE TREATMENT AND PREVENTION OF HUMAN ILLNESS WHICH COMPARES FAVORABLY WITH THAT RENDERED BY ANY OTHER INSTITUTION IN THIS COUNTRY OR ABROAD.JHHSC IS THE SOLE MEMBER OF THE JOHNS HOPKINS HOSPITAL (JHH), AN ACADEMIC MEDICAL CENTER, JOHNS HOPKINS BAYVIEW MEDICAL CENTER, INC.
