	The American Legion Post 81 provides scholarships to high school students. In 2023, Post 81 provided three scholarships of $500 each to Hopkinton students pursuing post-secondary education. More than forty applications were received for the 2023 scholarships.

	American Legion Post 81 provides support to Veterans in our community and the surrounding region. Each year, we provide a free dinner for our Veterans and their families on Veteran's Day. The project includes more than 75 volunteer hours for planning, food purchases, cooking, serving and clean-up. For Veteran's Day 2022, we served more than 90 meals to Veterans and their families at our function hall. In addition, there are a number of charitable works provided to Veterans and the community at large. During the current tax year, our Post provided materials and constructed a handicap-access ramp for a disabled Veteran. We also procured medical devices, provided use of our function facility at no cost to the State of New Hampshire Liquor Commission and Hopkinton High School for training events and hosted a number of celebrations of life and other events.

	American Legion Post 81 provides free food to Veterans, their families and community members at-large for key holidays. In 2023, the Post provided a free BBQ, including hot dogs, burgers, chips, non-alcoholic drinks and desserts. These free events occurred on Memorial Day. Collectively, more than 200 hot dogs and hamburgers were served at no cost to attendees.

Prior tax return preparer (David Pichette, PTIN P00644907) did not file returns for Fiscal years ended June 30, 2022; June 30, 2023; or June 30, 2024, although he repeatedly assured us that the returns had been filed electronically. Paper copies of June 30, 2022 and June 30, 2023 were provided to the IRS in May 2025 by our Leadership Team, due to the lies told by our prior tax return preparer (David Pichette, PTIN P00644907). Also, a paper copy of this return was previously filed as required by IRS Form 1024 as our Request for Retroactive Reinstatement. Although our tax-exempt status was reinstated on December 30, 2025 retroactive to November 15, 2024, we have received numersous letters from the IRS indicating that they so not have our June 30, 2024 Form 990. When spreaking with Ms. Lowell, IRS Badge #1003688553 on May 29, 2026, she recommended that we resubmit this return electronically, with this explanation included.
