What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The mission of the Delaware Psychological Association is to promote the profession of psychology and enhance and improve the quality of life for Delawareans.We do this through public and professional educational programs, by supporting high ethical standards and integrity for psychologists, and by working collaboratively with other groups to affect positive change in individuals, groups, and the community. We are committed to promoting psychology across the state and nationally through our voting membership in the American Psychological Association.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 The DPA traditionally operates by hosting continuing education workshops for members and non-members who are psychologists and other licensed mental health clinicians.In 2025, the DPA offered 11 continuing education (CE) workshops totaling 34 CE credits.In 2025 the DPA wrapped up the project to improve post-COVID behavioral healthcare in Delaware, specifically providing continuing education programs for clinicians and psychoeducational resources for all Delawareans.During 2024-2025, the Membership and Practice Committees made significant progress in strengthening engagement, supporting members, and expanding organizational growth. The committees reviewed applications for prospective new members for Executive Committee approval and continued to market and grow the Group Package Sponsorships by promoting them to members, adding details to the DPA website, and reaching out to Delaware organizations that may benefit from discounted group rates. This work led to securing Rockford Center as a new organizational sponsor for 2026. The Membership Committee also reviewed approximately 195 licensed clinicians in Delaware who are not members and developed an outreach plan focused on LinkedIn messaging, incentives, and retired psychologists. In addition, the committee worked to improve retention by contacting members with overdue renewals after the New Year, archiving those who chose not to continue with DPA or who relocated, and implementing an increase in membership dues following a membership vote.
