STUDENTS WERE INTRODUCED TO THE FESTIVAL'S STUDENT SHORTS BLOCK (COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY) AND AS WELL AS A COLLECTION OF SELECTIONS FROM THE 2025 FULLDOME CATEGORY OF IMMERSIVE FILMS. THEY WERE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET WITH VISITING FILMMAKERS AND INTERACT WITH THE MUSEUM'S INTERACTIVE WONDERSPACE IMMERSIVE EXHIBIT. FULLDOME AND DOCUMENTARY SCREENINGS CONTINUED AT THE MUSEUM INTO THE EVENINGS NIGHT OF IMMERSIVE SHOWCASE WHILE A SERIES OF NARRATIVE SHORT AND MUSIC DOCUMENTARY BLOCKS SCREENED DOWNTOWN AT THEATRE MACON. SATURDAY AND SUNDAY SAW ADDITIONAL OFFICIAL SELECTION SCREENINGS CONTINUING AT THE MUSEUM AND THEATRE MACON WITH THE ADDITION OF THE DOUGLASS THEATRE. A FESTIVAL WORKSHOP DISCUSSING 'FILMMAKING AND THE LAW' WAS HELD BY THE ATLANTA FIRM BARNES & THORNBERG AT CAPRICORN SOUND STUDIOS. SATURDAY EVENING FEATURED A SPECIAL SCREENING OF 40 ACRES DIRECTED BY R.T. THORNE AT THE DOUGLASS THEATRE AND THE FESTIVAL CLOSED WITH A SPECIAL SCREENING OF THE MUSIC DOCUMENTARY BOY GEORGE & THE CULTURE CLUB ALSO AT THE DOUGLASS. PRECEDING THE FESTIVAL DATES IN AUGUST, MACON FILM FESTIVAL PARTNERED WITH NEWTOWN MACON TO HOST SEVERAL OUTDOOR SCREENINGS IN AN ONGOING SERIES, CLASSICS AT THE BIBB, MADE POSSIBLE BY THE GENEROUS SUPPORT OF THE DOWNTOWN CHALLENGE FUND OF THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF CENTRAL GEORGIA, PEYTON ANDERSON FOUNDATION, AND KNIGHT FOUNDATION. THE FESTIVAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS WERE EXCITED TO ONCE AGAIN HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHOWCASE FESTIVAL SCREENINGS, WORKSHOPS, NETWORKING SESSIONS AND PARTIES IN MULTIPLE VENUES THROUGHOUT MACON. JUST UNDER 100 INDEPENDENT FILMS WERE FEATURED THROUGHOUT THE FESTIVAL WEEKEND AND CLOSE TO THIRTY FILMS WERE REPRESENTED BY VISITING FILMMAKERS DURING THE FESTIVAL. MANY FILMS FEATURED HAD BETWEEN 1 - 4 REPRESENTATIVES WHO MADE THE TRIP TO MACON. FESTIVAL ATTENDANCE NUMBERS ARE ESTIMATED AT 1,205 AUDIENCE MEMBERS.
